Seismic Distributed Loop

Top  Previous  Next

This module is a sibling of Seismic Loop. We can't use use Seismic Loop in distribute mode i.e. in case, if we want to execute a particular workflow in a cluster environment we need to opt for Seismic Distributed Loop module.

Module name                Seismic Distributed Loop

Structure and functioning of the Seismic Distributed Loop is similar to Seismic Loop however there are few minor changes in this module. Let's take a look at them.

The first place to look at the changes observed b/w Seismic Distributed loop & Seismic Loop is "Input data" tab.

In the above image, we observe that

It requires additional SEG-Y data handle as a secondary input but not mandatory.  This can be used in situations where we want to do SRME prediction and subtraction, then the user can read input as one dataset and predicted model as second dataset.

In Seismic Loop we need to add a separate module "Save seismic by gather" to save the final output. Where as in this case, we don't have to add anything except providing Seismic output file name within the Seismic Distributed Loop Input data tab.

In the above image, we reference both the input and model to the respective input SEG-Y data handles. In the adaptive subtraction, we need to provide the secondary data handle. For that we need to reference/connect to Input Gather2 from Seismic Distributed Loop. The 1st input automatically connects as it does in Seismic Loop.

Parameter information remains same for both the module but the main change we observe in Settings where the Distribution options exist for Seismic Distributed Loop module.

When the user check this option, then they can to submit the jobs in Distributed mode i.e. on cluster.
