Static Corrections

 

Static corrections play a crucial role in the seismic data processing, especially for land seismic data.

The first step in statics for onshore data is field statics which can be calculated and applied by the field parameters like up-hole time/depth. In other instances the user applies elevation statics and compare the results with field and elevation statics. The most common and efficient statics solution is refraction statics however it may not be true that the refraction statics solutions shall always give the best results. In refraction statics, the user should pick the first breaks, QC the first break picks and compute the solution. There are various methods to compute the refraction statics solution.
