Export mute picking
Mute picking export writes the top and bottom mute curves picked on pre-stack gathers to disk as .corr files, so the mutes can be archived or re-imported into another project.
Purpose
Save the top and bottom mute curves currently attached to a pre-stack geometry. Each existing mute curve is exported to its own file so it can later be loaded back with Import mute picking.
Launching the export
In the Data manager, right-click a pre-stack seismic geometry that has a mute picked and choose Save mute picking. The action appears only when a top or bottom mute exists for that geometry, and is also available as Save mute from the pre-stack gather context. It requires the geophysical interpretation license.

Step-by-step
- Right-click the pre-stack geometry in the Data manager and select Save mute picking.
- In the Save mute picking files to folder dialog, choose the destination folder. Files are named automatically, so no file name is entered.
- Press OK to write the files. Existing top and bottom mutes are saved as .corr files whose names embed the seismic name, the mute type and the geometry hash.

Notes
- The top and bottom mutes are written to separate files, for example <seismic>_mute_picking_top_<hash>.corr and <seismic>_mute_picking_bottom_<hash>.corr.
- Only the mute types that are actually picked for the geometry are exported; a geometry with only a top mute produces a single file.
- The geometry hash in the file name lets Import mute picking match each file back to the correct geometry when several files are loaded together.
- The action is available only with the geophysical interpretation license.
