Velocity model bar

The Velocity model bar gives you access to the tools used to build, import, calibrate and quality-control a depth velocity model. The velocity model is used to convert interpreted data between the time and depth domains and to support depth imaging and structural interpretation.

Buttons

The bar contains the following buttons:

Create constant layer depth velocity.PNGCreate depth velocity — opens the velocity modeling wizard, where you build a new depth velocity model (for example a constant or a layered model) from horizons, checkshots and well data.

Import depth velocity model.PNGImport depth velocity model — loads an existing depth velocity model from an external file into the project.

Update depth velocity by well tie.PNGUpdate depth velocity by well tie — calibrates the depth velocity model to the wells, adjusting velocities so that the modelled depths match the well markers (well-tie).

Clear all well-tied maps.PNGClear all well-tied maps — removes all well-tie corrections previously applied to the velocity maps, restoring the uncalibrated model.

Pine creation.PNGPine creation — builds a Pine chart from the velocity model for interval-velocity analysis and quality control.
