GSD (Geomage Seismic Data, .gsd) is Geomage's native seismic container. g-Space imports .gsd files through the seismic files view of the seismic data workspace, the same place used to load SEG-Y and ZGY. This topic covers importing GSD into a g-Space project.

Purpose

Load seismic stored in the Geomage GSD format into a g-Space project. A GSD file can carry 2D lines and 3D volumes, and it stores its own geometry, so no trace-header byte mapping has to be configured as it does for SEG-Y. GSD is import only.

Launching the import

Open the seismic files view of the seismic data workspace and press Add files (also available from the right-click menu of the seismic files table).

Step-by-step

1. Press Add files to open the Add seismic files dialog.
2. Set the file filter to Gsd data files (*.gsd) and select one or more .gsd files. GSD is loaded exactly like SEG-Y and .zgy from this dialog.
3. Confirm the import settings (2D / 3D and pre-stack / post-stack). Because GSD carries its own geometry, these values are kept as chosen and no trace-header format needs to be set for the file.
4. The selected files are added as rows to the seismic files table. Press Apply selected seismic (or Apply all seismic) to load them. Loaded data appears on the location map.

Notes

• A single GSD file can hold 2D lines and 3D volumes; g-Space reads the geometry from the file, so no SEG-Y trace-header mapping is required.
• GSD import is read-only. There is no export back to GSD - export seismic as SEG-Y instead.
