Delete any previously saved item

The Delete item module permanently removes a previously saved data item from the g-Platform project. It is designed for use at the end of a processing workflow to clean up intermediate results — such as temporary velocity models, geometry files, or intermediate seismic gathers — that were created during processing but are no longer needed. Deleting unused items keeps the project organized and frees storage space on disk.
The module accepts any g-Platform item saved as a .gitem or .gsd file. Once executed, the item is fully removed from the project and cannot be recovered. Use this module with care — ensure the item is no longer required by any downstream step in the workflow before deleting it.

Click inside the Value field to open the item browser, then navigate to and select the item you wish to delete. The module accepts g-Platform items saved with a .gitem or .gsd extension. This field is required — execution will fail if no item is selected. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, so verify that the selected item is no longer needed before running the module.

When set to TRUE, the module is skipped entirely and the specified item is not deleted. This is useful during workflow testing or when you want to temporarily disable the deletion step without removing the module from the workflow. Set back to FALSE when you are ready to perform the deletion.

This module runs as a simple single-threaded operation. It does not perform any seismic data computation — it only issues a delete command to the g-Platform project controller for the specified item ID. The module is lightweight and completes almost instantly regardless of the size of the item being deleted. Because the deletion is permanent and irreversible, it is strongly recommended to place the Delete item module only at the very end of a workflow, after all downstream processing steps that depend on the item have already executed successfully.
